Cookie Policy
Last updated: Loading...
This policy explains how Loople uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies (like localStorage) when you use our website and Venue Portal, in compliance with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They're commonly used to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, or track behaviour.
2. What Loople does — and doesn't — use
Loople uses only strictly necessary storage. We do not use:
- ❌ Advertising cookies
- ❌ Third-party tracking pixels
- ❌ Social-media tracking tags
- ❌ Analytics that identify individual users
3. Cookies and storage we do use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
venue_owner_token |
Keeps venue owners signed in to the Venue Portal (JWT session token stored in localStorage) |
Strictly necessary | Until sign-out or 30 days |
loople_cookie_consent |
Remembers your cookie preference so we don't nag you | Strictly necessary | 1 year |
tc_accepted |
Remembers your acceptance of the Terms & Conditions | Strictly necessary | Persistent |
Under PECR, strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent because they are essential to deliver the service you have explicitly requested (signing in, being served the site). We show a banner anyway so you always know what's stored.
4. Third-party services
Some pages embed external services that may set their own cookies:
- Stripe — only during checkout to prevent payment fraud (stripe.com/cookies-policy)
- Cloudinary — for delivering video and image uploads
- Jitsi Meet — during a live video call
We do not control these providers' cookies. Please refer to their cookie policies for details.
5. Managing cookies
You can:
- Change your Loople cookie choice at any time by clicking "Manage cookies" in the footer.
- Delete existing cookies from your browser settings (e.g. Chrome → Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data).
- Block cookies entirely in your browser — but if you do this, you won't be able to stay signed in to Loople.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology or law. Material changes will be notified via our banner.
